1st: What is a podcast ?

A Podcast is a digital audio file, which can be listened via streaming or can be downloaded from the internet and listened to on various digital devices, either online (stream via Internet connection) or offline (via file download).

2nd: How to listen to a Podcast ?

Our subscribed users and community members can use so called RSS Feeds to bookmark Podcast and Videocast series. - Don't worry, Maverick's Cove codes this RSS Feed for you (in XML language).

RSS (= Really Simple Syndication RSS) is a web feed that allows our users and applications to access updates to our websites (e.g. Podcast Archive, Youtube Podcasts) in a standardized, computer-readable format.

Such a RSS feed is a file that contains all our podcast's info (no. of episode, title, file type, length of podcast, language etc. ...) inclusive thumbnail icons related to the topic of each podcast edition and series.

3rd: How to pick up a RSS feed ?

In 2019, most web browsers stopped supporting RSS feeds natively. Now there are several extensions/plugins/addons available that can add this capability to Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge. The Vivaldi web browser still has a built-in RSS reader.

As a stand-alone solution, there are also free RSS reader apps which let you find a replacement for such browser extensions. An overview for different operation systems for apps and desktop (e.g. Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android) you find on Wikipedia here. Or just google for "free RSS Readers Test". Don't feel overwhelmed, its one in a life time job to install an RSS Reader, you wont regret it.

Whenever we upload a new podcast or videocast, your RSS reader gets automatically an update. No action is required from your side other than enjoying listening. 😄

All posts and new posts on Maverick's Cove website can be bookmarked via RSS feed you get automated notifications. Store these two URL addresses in your personal RSS Reader:

4th: Benefits of Podcasts against Reading ?

Studies show that regular podcast listeners develop more refined auditory processing and attention skills. They are better at interpreting vocal nuances and deciphering complex ideas spoken aloud. Paying attention is not just about hearing but understanding too.

5th: Transcriptions

For deaf people or people with dislexia, or for people who prefer a multimodal learning method (listening + writing, listening + watching etc. ...) we offer all our podcasts as 1:1 transcript (PDF) from our Transcripts archive. and as Videocast (Mp4 video format) with karaoke sub-titles
